Buffalo, NY- One HSBC Center, in conjunction with Roaming Buffaloes and naming-rights sponsor The Buffalo News, formally announce the creation of the Tower Jam Concert Series, a free monthly event every second Friday of the month running through September.

This new series of performances, featuring acts with local roots, will occupy the plaza located directly below the tallest building between Cleveland and Albany, One HSBC Center. "Between the variety of musical talents, excellent local food and drinks and the ability to mingle downtown either after work or as a destination, the Tower Jam Concert Series is just another reason why the City of Buffalo is making a comeback and another fun event to enjoy on Friday nights," said Stephen Fitzmaurice Chief Operating Officer, Seneca One Realty LLC. "We're thrilled to present this unique opportunity right at our building footprint."

The next concert will occur between 4:30-8:30 pm, with festivities beginning at 11am, featuring an open air market and lunch in the plaza.

The July 9th headlining act is Soulive, whose members return to perform for their hometown of Buffalo after 10 years traveling to nearly every corner of the world. Soulive has opened for The Rolling Stones, recorded with Chaka Khan, Dave Matthews,
Talib Kweli and John Scofield, and had Stevie Wonder sit in with them on tour. The band has developed relationships with artists like Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Robert Randolph, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett, Fred Wesley, The Roots, Ivan Neville and many others. The diverse band covers jazz, hip-hop, rock, soul, funk, R & B, blues, and currently calls New York City home. Opening acts for Soulive will be Buffalo's own Free Henry and the Jony James Blues Band.

On August 13th, the free series continues with another Buffalo homecoming. Peter Case, the three-time Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, will be backed by his old Hamburg band buddies and fellow Buffalo Music Hall of Famers Jim Whitford, Mark Winsick, and others. Opening bands will be the Alison Pipitone Band and Son of the Sun.

The final concert in the series is scheduled for September 10th, with the talent still being negotiated. An announcement will be coming soon.

The concerts are free to the public, but a portion of event proceeds benefits the Police Athletic League. "We set out to do something outside in the summer months (after the success of last winter's Powder keg Festival held in the same location) to make a more vibrant scene for downtown coworkers to enjoy how wonderful the plaza really is," said Jeff Empric, founder of Roaming Buffaloes.
